Why is my verification request taking so long to complete and why is there no ETA available?
DISA has a team of researchers working diligently to verify education and employment histories. We attempt to contact the verification source at least once every day. Many times, we cannot give an accurate ETA for a completed verification because we are depending on a third-party to provide us with the information.
Why doesn't DISA typically use documents my applicant has provided to verify their past employment or education?
We are unable to verify these documents for authenticity, so completing a report with consumer-supplied documents diminishes the independence and reliability of our reports. We can, however, send a copy of the document to the employer or school and ask if they will validate it for us. Please keep in mind that some sources will not validate outside documents.
Why doesn’t DISA use the contact information for a verification source that was provided by a customer or applicant?
Our researchers prefer to rely on DISA's known, reliable contact information to provide verification information, as an applicant may provide incorrect information to you or to DISA to falsify their employment or education history.
